STORY PREVIEW
Every day is an enjoyable reading holiday with Mamie Holiday. Barnyard Auction Day is filled with playful puns, alliteration, and similes. It is endearing, entertaining, and educational. It’s also about gratitude and the appreciation of those who help us in our daily lives. Laugh your way through the story and give Monkey a thumbs up for saving the barnyard animals from the auction. Monkey is hardly appreciated but remains humble and kind regardless of what others think about him. He’s always eager to lend a helping hand.

Farmer Joe’s Barnyard School is finally a pleasingly perfect place for learning. The winged animals regularly attend school. Oh no, Farmer Joe is missing. “Is he a victim of dreadful, deplorable stranger danger?” the weary animals asked. They demand an answer.

Deputy Doggie found Farmer Joe at home resting in bed. “He’s lower in spirit than a snake's belly,” Deputy Doggie announced. “A strange monkey sat by Farmer Joe’s bedside feeding soup to him. The farmer seemed to be fond of his new friend.”

“Well, did you ask the farmer what’s ailing him?” Brewster Rooster asked. “Farmer Joe didn’t say much,” Deputy Doggie replied. Days later, Farmer Joe and the monkey arrived at the Barnyard School. “Monkeys aren’t barnyard animals and also aren’t allowed at this school!” Brewster Rooster grumbled.

“Please don’t be rude,” Farmer Joe pointed out. “This monkey probably escaped from the circus and needs a friend. He is smart as a whip and handy as a front pocket on a shirt. He has been a good, gracious guest in my home. He’s welcome to attend class.”
