STORY PREVIEW
Barnyard Beach Day Book Cover.png

Every day is an enjoyable reading holiday with Mamie Holiday. Barnyard Auction Day, PT I, is a delightful story for kids ages five through nine. It is filled with playful puns, alliteration, and similes. It is endearing, entertaining, and educational. It’s also about gratitude and the appreciation of those who help us in our daily lives. Laugh your way through the storylines and give Monkey a thumbs up for saving the barnyard animals from the auction. Monkey is hardly appreciated but remains humble and kind regardless of what others think about him. He’s always eager to lend a helping hand.

The animals have been attending school most weekdays and need a break.
“All we do is study, study, study,” Brewster Rooster exclaimed. “I never have any fun. Too much studying and no fun make me a dull rooster.”

“What is fun?” Lucky Turkey asked. “I don’t know if I have ever had fun. Where can I find fun?”
“Fun is what we do to feel good inside,” Pinky Pig said. “Fun is kind of like frolicking in the mud wallow. Wallowing in the mud makes me feel great!”

“Well, so much for fun,” Brewster Rooster said. “I’ll never step into that smelly mud wallow.”
“Not so fast!” Owl Sheffield said. “There are many fun things to do like having a race, going for a relaxing swim, bobbing for apples, or even going to the beach and soaking up the sun.”

“That’s it!” Monkey said. “The beach sounds like fun.”
“But how will we get to the beach?” Deputy Doggie asked. Owl Sheffield said that the beach is on Galveston Island, which is miles away.”
Who drove the farmer's red truck to the beach?
